Dr. Leona Kotlyar | Pediatric Dentist
Dr. Leona Kotlyar received her dental degree from the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine. She then attended a General Practice Dental Residency, followed by a Pediatric Dental Specialty Residency at Northwell Health/Staten Island University Hospital. Upon completing her rigorous dental training, she studied further to become a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry which is not a requirement, but rather an additional accolade to attest to the level of superior knowledge in the profession of Pediatric Dentistry.
She continues to take multiple yearly continuing education courses and training programs in infant oral health, laser dentistry, airway health and restorative dentistry to continue to be on the cutting edge of technology and research.
Dr. Kotlyar dedicates herself to prevention and treatment of dental problems of infants, children, and adolescents. She strives to provide superior care in a friendly and knowledgeable manner in order to make each child’s visit as pleasurable as possible.
Dr. Leona Kotlyar is involved in many yearly community outreach events such as Give Kids a Smile Day and National Children’s Dental Health Month along with weekly visits to different daycares in order to educate children on the importance of oral healthcare, diet and visiting the dentist. She has been recognized in multiple literary journals and newspaper articles along with television shows where she spoke about the importance of oral healthcare.
In her spare time, Dr. Kotlyar enjoys cooking, reading and spending time with her husband and their two boys.
